Dodgers do not have a hit in the bottom of the 8th vs tbe Cubs.  Ex Oriole minor leaguer Zach Davies pitches 6 innings, walking 5.  Tepera pitched the 7th.  Chafin is pitching in the 8th, he just walked a guy with one out.  Kimbrel will try to finish it off, most likely.

Cubs turn a nice 3-6 DP (step on 1st so the force was off and the tag had to be made at 2nd and it was).  Going to the 9th.

And they did it.  4 Cubs combine to no hit the Dodgers.

Another one, sort of.  5 Tampa pitchers combined to no hit the Indians in a 7 inning game in the first game of the doubleheader today.  McHugh, Fleming, Castillo, Wisler, and Fairbanks.

Clayton Kershaw is facing the Twins in Minnesota today.   It's the top of the 8th, and the Dodgers are up 3-0.

There appear to be no imperfections in the game Kershaw has pitched thus far.   He has 13 Ks, and his pitch count is at 81.

Bellinger/Lux/Barnes went b-t-b-t-b in the top of the 8th to make it 6-0, LA still batting while Kershaw awaits the bottom of the inning.

And Roberts is not letting him finish it.   He's out after 7 innings, 81 pitches, 21 up, 21 down, 13Ks.

And Gary Sanchez singled with one out off the reliever.   So we will not see baseball's first ever combined perfect game today either.

That was the Rays.

22 years old and they had him throw 108 pitches.

Going to be a lot of hot takes if a guy with a career ERA over 5 struggles his next time out.

He's a 2020 draftee (1-10) and has pitched a grand total of 62 innings in the minors.
