I know. I want top prospects!

Same. I love seeing us win games but it's still obvious that we aren't going anywhere with Miley and Ubaldo on staff and Gausman/Tillman are both iffy every time out too.

Just worried that if we put a winning streak together we'll then decide not to sell the expirings/Britton/Brach. We may be better short and long term to do it if we can get some young pitching help/offensive help for as soon as next year if guys like Verdugo/Calhoun etc. are involved in deals.

The two grounders off Britton were soft and perfectly placed, one was probably foul. Tough line at the traded deadline looming.

Scouts aren't necessarily looking at results at this point.   They want to make sure he's got his velocity and that he appears healthy.  The ump looked like he missed a pitch or two as well.

Zach has always given up some hits on ground balls that find holes.  I'd be much more concerned by the wildness and the long fly out to end the game.

Britton / TIllman for Peacock / Fisher / lower level pitching prospect?

Houston is not trading an 8-1 pitcher with a mid 2 era off of their MLB roster.

The Orioles need quality / quantity from a deal....this is a no and why would they want Tillman who has had about one good start this year.

Britton wasn't his best but his stock didn't drop at all IMO. He's a ground ball guy.

He's a ground ball AND strikeout guy. His strikeout rate has been around 30 percent 2015-2016. It's only 15 percent right now. His FIP had been below 2, it's above 3. He has a 1.81 WHIP, which has previously been well below 1. His ground ball rate is 68 percent, it's normally ~80 percent. His hard contact rate in 2016 was 14.8 percent, it's 29.6 now. His swinging strike rate has dropped from 17 percent to 11 percent.

These numbers can turn around quickly because it is such a short sample, but his performance so far in 2017 has some early caution flags for people looking to acquire him.

Spot on. That other teams will ignore this and look at him as the pitcher he has been previously is naive.

Britton and Brach both likely have Mark Melancon (2016 value) right now. Those who are expecting a Miller/Chapman or even Kimbrel type packages are going to be disappointed.

Of course, Britton being light out in his next three or four appearances could help things.

All that matters is if they think he is healthy. If he is healthy he will command a ransom.

He's not going to bring the kind of return that he would have brought if he was pitching like he did the last three years.    He's just not.
