Should have know better than to try and sneak one by you.

BTW I'm looking at an old thread, you want to relive what you said about DJ?

I've never been a big Stewart fan but I understand why some are.  At any rate, I am glad to see him get a call up here, it is deserved.

EDIT:  IIRC, I believe I've stayed pretty consistent by saying I'm not a huge fan of his.

I'm reposting it anyway, because I find it amusing.

I think when we're picking guys like DJ Stewart, a college bat with a dumbass batting stance and hasn't been able to hit his way out of a paper bag, we should be more concerned with who's making our picks rather than the amount. Yes, Stewart was picked in the 20's but he's proven to be so far off the mark it's not even funny.

That’s what I think.    I’m not expecting great defense from Stewart but I think he’s an upgrade compared to the guys we have out there.

He looked pretty good out there last year. I think because he is stocky people underrate his defense.

Well, it is a dumbass batting stance. :)

And I wasn't wrong on being concerned with who's making our picks, glad we stepped up our game in that department.  At the time I posted that, he had come off a season where he'd hit .218 in A- ball out of college.

As always, CoC, glad to amuse you.

To be honest, I didn’t watch enough last September to have an opinion.   I just know that it wouldn’t be that hard to be an upgrade over Mancini and Smith.

Was not is.  It doesn't look like that now thank goodness.

At least you were not the one that said that Barker and Belicek were going to be more successful than Stewart.

That's right, he has changed it up.

I don't make wild proclamations about players I've never seen in the draft and how they'll fare in the majors.  Don't know who Barker and Belicek are.

Stewart turned out to be a bit of a project.    His stops at Aberdeen and Delmarva were very discouraging.    But, it seems he’s fought his way through things.    Hopefully he’ll get a fair chance to show what he can do at the big league level.

I’m excited that Stewart has earned this opportunity.   He couldn’t be any hotter — .457/.518/.886 in May, with 27 RBI in 20 games.    Hopefully they’ll put him straight into the lineup and see what he can do.

I wish he was doing that with the old AAA ball, because the major league translation of that line in Norfolk would usually be peak 'roids Barry Bonds.

Yep.  If they send him back down after a few days I am going to be unhappy.
