(PRE-GAME CHATTER)

When the Mariners were mathematically eliminated from a post-season berth on Wednesday night, it continued the longest post-season drought for a North American sports franchise.

The last time that the Mariners were in the playoffs was in the 2001 season, when Jamie Moyer, Ichiro Suzuki and company won 116 games in the regular season before bowing to the Yankees in that year's ALCS.
