Left field at OPACY going through a big change

Batting practice in left field was dangerous.  Balls coming in hot both in front of you since the section was raised up, and those going over your head would riccochet off the back wall.  Always had to have your head on a swivel.

Sounds similar to Houston, where half of the BP homers to left bounce of the back wall and back towards the field. Fun place to watch BP.

What I'm happiest about is these seem to be in reverse order, and the most recent pic in the upper left shows some green coming through whatever material it is they've got over the previously disturbed turf.  

I mean, Nicole must've been antsy as hell to get that green back!

Second picture makes it look like they are building in a slight angle away from the 'pen, rather than an obtuse section.

I read so many people on Twitter criticizing this, blaming Angelo’s, etc.  If this was the original design, I think most people would have liked it.

I agree with it conceptually, but I think they pushed it too far back. Right now it kinda reminds me of...

Maybe once it's finished it will look more seamless. If not, I think the "Dorian Porch" should stick.

It's quirky. I don't get hideous though. I think this is going to be so normal looking after about a month, we won't even be thinking about it.

I hate everything about it. I think it's a major detriment to the aesthetics of the park. Not all changes are good.

Going by this photo it doesn't look like the bullpen will be jutting out very far. That could still change from what it looks when finished. This will become the deepest left field in baseball.

I think it looks pretty cool.  

I'd be stoked if they somehow brought back the "Hit It Here" Maryland lottery thing they had on the fence in '93 or '94, that thing was the one piece of advertising that actually looked good on an outfield fence.
