Glad we got the 4:00 and 4:30 slots. I will be in 338 for all games of the Wild Card series (row 1 for games 1 and 3, row 2 for game 2). The cheapest ticket on Stubhub right now is $63. Will definitely be embarrassing for the Orioles if they can't sell out playoff games, but I am a diehard fan and I certainly wouldn't pay $77.40 for the leftfield upper reserve, which is what the Orioles are charging for a single ticket with fees. -

I said in the offseason that I wanted to bring him back to be the back up QB. He can still throw the ball well. Still lots of zip. I figured he would retire when he was no longer a starter since he has all those kids but he relishes the chance for his kids to see him play. He said this was the first game they attended all year. You can tell he still a love and passion for the sport. I personally think he has become the most underrated player in Ravens history and is one of the most underrated QBs in NfL history. -

We did see the O's pick up steam over the last week, and yes, some guys came back. What I am wondering is - and we will know in a week or so - did they pick up steam because there was less pressure about making the playoffs, once that was determined/clinched, or have we truly turned a corner? I think it's a fair question. I hope it's the latter, but I fear it's the former. -

My point was, in retrospect, all three would have been very solid pickups, but Elias would have been vilified had he made those moves at the time. It's what many people do here....and by "ballistic", I was referring to the typical overreactions that we see here regularly. Suarez wasn't a sexy pickup, and it was deemed a dumpster dive by some, and let's face it, as McCann said in the postgame interview yesterday, he's a huge reason that we ended up where we did. -
I definitely don't want to hand both Povich/Suarez spots in April. I'd rather have those guys, plus the 6/7/8 you mentioned, fighting for the 5 spot/injury fill-ins that we know will be needed at some point. I think the situation lines up for exactly one SP acquisition this winter, and I think it's back to the FA market this time. Unlikely Burnes-sized. Maybe Gibson-sized or bigger though.
