I'm not sure if Kimbrel makes it to the end of the season now. Webb and Coulombe come back in September they could put Kimbrel on waivers.

I just don’t think he’s the same pitcher for that latter statement. He either needs to gain 2-3 more mph back on the heater or have pin point control.

He could be lights out the rest of the year and I wouldn't trust him in a playoff game.

He was really good for about a month in the first half. I’m not saying I expect it at all, but I won’t discount the small chance that he finds it for a month at the right time.

Maybe he finds that level of control again. His margins are just so small now.

Well at least that's likely to rule him out for returning to the closer's role for the rest of the season, barring him suddenly finding 97 with command.

I would be trying to find a way to IL him. Maybe back soreness. 92 down the middle? No.
