They are having an issue with their photo gallery, but this should be enough to get you to read the article.

That's awesome. Even if for some reason the Reds are playing the Marlins at Wrigley Field :laughlol:

This news really is remarkable. It is going to be the equivalent of BA as a statisic. Nobody will be able to deny this information. We will be able find out the strongest arm (Furcal or Molina) in the field. The player with the best reaction time (Zimmerman). The player with the quickest feet (Andrus or Utley or Wilson or Reyes) . The player that takes the best route to the ball (Gutierrez). The player that covers the most ground (Gutierrez). The player that setups the best before the pitch (Gutierrez or Everett).

Not the mention the player that hits the ball the hardest (Pujols). An exact Hit Chart for every pitch/location.

This technology really is going to blow the doors off to scouting MLB players/teams.

I guess my concern is the number of cameras. Is four really enough?

I guess the four cameras are going to be place so that we can get a great picture of the depth of the ball. The moving fielders only need 1 overview camera. My guess is we are going to get data on bad hops which is amazing. I would love to see what sensor they will be using to mark the player (heat/motion) and the ball (motion).

I am more excited to see the data of the fielders positioning than I am on anything else we will be getting.
