Every blue moon. He wouldn't always be there, mainly when the series is won. By the way, what are we doing when Parades comes back from Bowie

I don't see how there is room for a no bat no glove guy on the roster.

My guess is he is DFA'd once he is healthy enough.

Do you forget how good Davis' defense at first is getting?

This. Davis has saved multiple errors / runs this year, and is looking Gold Glove-ish. My advice, for which Buck is going to pay exactly what it is worth, is minimize the number of players out of position. Janish at short at least keeps the infield defensively tight, and although his bat isn't much, JJ Hardy is not exactly inspiring comparisons to Ruth, George Herman. And Flaherty off the bench allows for decent SS defense if pinching hitting for Janish in key situations late in the game. As to Pedro at 3B, please, for the love of anything or everything that has been held holy by any sentient being in the history of the Universe, NO!

You would put Pedro in the field?

I honestly think he is worse than Parades.

I don't know what people are thinking/smoking. Alvarez should never, ever "glove up" unless desperate times call for desperate Sakatas at catcher again. A couple people also seem to think that with regular "reps", Flaherty will find his Spring Training stroke. The only thing regular reps will do with Flaherty is show precisely why he's a .220 hitter.

Why does anyone want to move Davis off first? He can play third better than Paredes (but I wager, so can Jones) but if he wasn't as adept as picking throws out of the dirt, Hardy would already have at least 8 errors in April. Hardy can field with the best of them but so far has been a short-hop hurling specialist from the hole. Trumbo, Alvarez or Kim couldn't have prevented that. I think I would take my chances with Janish, or Flash against righties that only throw fastballs.

Sherman on MLB, suggested that Janish who is on paternity leave will become the primary SS once he returns. Buck likes Manny's D at 3B and while Janish isn't JJ he's a solid defender. Flash at 3B and Manny at SS is probably temporary.

Hopefully. As anemic as Janish's bat is I don't think Flaherty's is strong enough to make up for the difference on defense.

Do most of you guys really not want to see Machado finally play SS or is it more dislike for Flaherty? As much as Buck loves Hardy, Hardy might get Wally Pip'd by Manny. He's already having a huge year. Why fight it? I'm glad that we have Janish, but why yo yo Machado between 3rd and SS?

Obviously, I'm rooting for Machado at SS and Flaherty at 3rd. Luckily for me, and Paul Janish, he's on paternity leave and Flaherty gets a nice little 3-4 game first crack at winning the job. Don't forget that Flaherty put up a good dWAR in his 86 GS at 3rd in 13-14.

This for the most part, but get Flaherty some games in favorable match ups.

Janish also provides PH opportunities for Kim.

Don't see the Orioles eating $28.5 million in salary. Hardy has to play somewhere.
