This is true - I'd like to see DJ out there both games.  To be honest, I don't know if the two Marlins pitchers the Orioles are facing are lefties so that could play a role too.

They have a RHP tonight (Neidert).  And they are using a Lefty tomorrow afternoon (Rogers).

By the way, has anyone noticed that Mullins has hit .158/.158/.211 in his last 19 PA, spanning five games?   Demote the man!   Off with his head!

Geez Frobby, everyone knows you have to have twenty plate appearances before you can start making declarations about a player.

Take off the 5-5 game in Boston and he's not a .300 hitter..

Galvis will play just about every day regardless of how he is hitting. Who else are you going to give semi-regular playing time to at SS when his bat is cold?

Valaika is not the greatest SS but Urias is more error prone at SS than Valaika.

Neither player should be getting semi-regular playing time at SS. If they are the options, they need to keep trotting Galvis out there regardless of how deep of a slump he may be in. And if he goes on the DL, play Martin there for a week or two

Going against a LHP today. Urias will play at 2nd. Do we play both Hays and Mountcastle, and give Santander the day off?

Santander seemed like he rolled his ankle pretty badly last night at minimum.  I would expect him to be out for at least a few days if not more.

What, exactly, is the point?

That in a SSS, one game can make a player look much better than he is.

Chris’ point isn’t that we should take away Mullins 5-5 game, just that we need to recognize that any time we are dealing with extreme examples (like judging a player on 20 at bats), we need to remember that SSS mean nothing.

Mullins is off to a great start regardless but if he goes 0-5 in that game, he is hitting  258.  If he goes 2-5, he is hitting 290.  So few hits can really skew stats early on.
