I’d agree….I’d counter with Hall, Cowser, their choice McDermott/Povich/Johnson, Ortiz, and Rom for Burnes. But, I’d need to be able to extend him now.

I do not see Holliday or GRod going in any deal.   I don't think Elias is going to package 3-4 prospects for one pitcher, no matter how good, for two years of service time.    Because of the infield depth, I could see one or two of Norby/Westburg/Ortiz going in a deal and maybe even Cowser.   More likely, I think you see one of those 4 going in a deal for someone lesser than Burnes.

They probably wouldn't even bother saying "goodbye" before hanging up the phone. 

It would need to be more like Cowser, Hall, Mayo, and Ortiz.

I completely agree. If we were coming off a 90 win season and deep playoff run, and were looking for that last piece to put us over the top, maybe, but we are definitely not there yet.

His batting average last year was .001 away from Mountcastle's OBP.
