Apologies if this has been posted previously, but Fantasy Pitch Fx has an Injury Database where you can enter the player's name and get a list of his time on the DL and the nature of his injury, over the course of his career. It only appears to cover players who were recently active and doesn't seem to have any data on them earlier than 2000, but it should still be a very useful tool to evaluate proposed trades or to refresh one's memory regarding dates and nature of injuries.

This is for John Smoltz, but it doesn't have his 1994 season when he only made 21 starts.

This is for John Smoltz, but it doesn't have his 1994 season when he only made 21 starts.

It was pointed out to me that I forgot 1994 was the strike-shortened season.

However, the injury of Matt Morris which cost him all of the 1999 season and parts of 1998 and 2000 was not in the data base either. Best guess is that only injuries from 2001 forward are in the data base. Makes sense when you consider that it's for fantasy players.
