He undervalues pitching so it isn't surprising he finds the asking price high.

He under values pitching so much we had the best pitching in baseball the 2nd half of last year and targeted pitching (Bradish, Povich, McDermott, Johnson, Cano) almost exclusively in trades.

I'd like your source on that statement.

I just pulled up pre and post all star break and it shows the Brewers having a team ERA .36 runs a game lower.  Not saying you are wrong, mind you.

As to my actual statement, when someone continually expresses surprise at the cost, in both money and prospects, to obtain pitching it shows that they undervalue pitching compared to their peers.

If everyone else thinks a dweeble is worth 100 peebles and you think it is only worth 80 peebles, you are undervaluing it compared to the established market value.

After all, at the end of the day everything is worth what someone will pay for it.

Time today for a few more facts and opinions about the 2023 Orioles and the Birds who will take the field in 2024.

Fact: The Orioles’ team ERA for last season was 3.89 which ranked fifth-best in the American League and seventh-best in the majors. In the second half, their team ERA of 3.58 ranked first in the AL and third in the majors.

My apologies. It was only the best in the AL.  3rd best in baseball for the GM who undervalues pitching.

Good on you for admitting your mistake.

My other comment still stands.

I’d like your source and quotes where Elias expresses his “surprise” at the cost of pitching.  Must be a lot if it’s continual.
