Jackson Holliday 2024

I am sure many will disagree with me on this, which is fine, but I want Holliday on the post season roster.  Holliday has pedigree that none of the other utility infielder type guys have, he is a one - one.  Second, and for me the most important, Holliday is a core part of the future nucleus of this team.  I want him to share the post season experiences with Gunnar, Westburg, Adley, etc even if he isn't playing.  I think it will help with his development being a part of it.

Plate appearances Over/Under from here...is it as tough as 0.5?

Forrest Wall and him maybe an interesting roster decision for Tuesday.     On the Trey Sweeney play, I'm not 100% sure he performed like you would hope your Dave Roberts, Terrance Gore or Brandon Lockridge specialist does.

For the playoffs, aside from running, does he pinch hit for Mountcastle against a righty closer if the game flow is O'Hearn starts but exits for Mountcastle in the middle innings?     Pinch hit for McCann if Adley is DH in a Burnes game?     You probably don't want to mess with Urias mojo during a heater, though that is the kind of thing Decision Sciences removing the emotion might do.

In his favor he is a genuine middle infielder if the baseball gods forbid Westburg's hand becomes too problematic.

The hit tool scouting grade and that one nice pinch hitting performance against the Astros is tough to let go dreaming on.

He will play this weekend…in fact I think he may even play SS this weekend.

Gunnar rest will be interesting to watch.     Westburg hasn't played a lot of 2B, and they have their double play game to sharpen.

There's a level on which I hope they keep the accelerator all the way down until the achievement of eliminating a team is unlocked.

Aroldis is coming to New York if Burnes can keep the 12-way parlay alive another day.

A pedigree of… not a base stealer, not a defensive sub, can’t bunt, isn’t a contact hitter, all of this at the moment in his age 20 season. Give me a role player if we have the option.

I’m not down on Holliday but it is what it is. Reality.

And post season experience which will help in the future and adds  some speed.  With all that said he will have to show more in in ST 25 then he did this season to start the year in Baltimore . He's only 20 no need to rush the kid if he isn't quite ready yet.

Holliday going with the Mennonite look. Probably a wiser choice than Cowsers LOL. Still don’t get the pirate, that’s a completely different theme. Funny either way

Sorry for the belated thread bump.

Pretty sure the rookie hazing theme was "Peter Pan."  Cowser = Tinkerbell, Westie = rando pirate (def not Capt Hook there LOL), and Jackson = Wendy Darling.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'll be honest, I only understand about 30% of what you ever write, but this last sentence needs NASA to run it through a super computer to figure out what you are trying to say!

The reality is that Holliday brings speed on the bases right now and the ability to fill in at 2B and SS if absolutely needed.

I'd rather have Soto, but with Soto being optioned and Holliday kept around, it appears they will go into the playoffs with him on the roster.

He's just going to have the Jorge Mateo role, minus the great base stealing ability.

I'm too much influenced maybe by MLB trying to access that gambling revenue!

The Orioles are going to tell the betting public what Corbin Burnes pitch budget is tonight, right?

Orioles 6-0 and Yankees 0-6 would be the 12 legs of a parlay bet that only a true degenerate would consider.

The Pirates would have to carry three of them, and for Aroldis Chapman it would be his "personal World Series" in 2024.     Aroldis save opportunities against Soto and Judge if the division race is still live would be strong baseball entertainment.
