I don't have a concern at all. He's only struck out at a 15.7% rate and has 21.6% walk rate. I think what Holliday does is let it rip earlier in counts and then he's buttons that up with two strikes. He takes really good PAs.

Agree.  His hacks on 0-0 and 1-0 counts are pretty violent.  He does not get cheated.  His ability to draw a walk after getting down in the count is pretty darn impressive.

Just to add a bit more context, MLB average WHIFF% is 25%.  Freddie Freeman (who is probably a 70 hit tool guy) is right about average.  Bryce Harper and Shohei Ohtani are ~30%.

Jackson’s 2023 Norfolk WHIFF was ~25%.  So far this year, his chase rate (~20%) and avg EV (~93mph) are both elite. So any concern about a very small sample size is certainly “mild”, but just something I’m monitoring.

From 2020-2023, Freeman’s been at ~20% WHIFF (75th to 80th percentile).  He was ~25% earlier in his career and in a very small 2024 sample size.

Mookie, Adley, and Bregman are ~15% WHIFF.  Bryce, Shohei, and Tatis are ~30% WHIFF.  The successful players with higher WHIFF tend to hit the ball very hard, but Holliday looks like he will have more power than might be expected from his stature.

Can Jackson PLEASE stop soft tossing throws to first on routine ground balls?? It's like he's throwing change ups to Mounty. The hitters have come close to beating a few times. He certainly must have shown more when he played shortstop.

That one last night looked about the same as the one to Kjerstad on Opening night in Norfolk, where Kjerstad took an error dropping a ball that arrived shin high.

Maybe he's just practicing efficiency to save the arm for ~2000 second base games.
