Lacava, Jennings and Dipoto are all great prospects. I like what I hear about Dipoto and I think his experience as Zona's interim GM is a huge asset. The key is whether any of these guys get real autonomy to reform things.

I figured as much. I don't know anyone would think that Buck, of all people, wouldn't have a sense of urgency here. I think Buck sincerely wants to right the ship.

The Orioles have received permission from the Toronto Blue Jays to interview Tony LaCava for the position of general manager.

Also, they've requested permission from the Florida Marlins to interview Dan Jennings. However, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is in Europe, so that decision is on hold.

The interviews with LaCava and Diamondbacks executive Jerry Dipoto might not take place before Monday. As I wrote earlier, manager Buck Showalter is tentatively scheduled to fly back to Texas late tonight or early tomorrow.

Jennings is currently in Arizona to do some scouting in the fall league.
