Interesting. What would he cost be? Former first rounder with an OPS of .819 through the minors. Worth 2.3 rWAR and .4 fWAR last season (BB-Ref seems higher on his defense). He's a switch hitter, which is nice. I guess he's blocked at this point with Cano in town.

Yep, he was the 3rd best prospect in the Mariners organization heading into last season. I wonder if this means the FO is considering Schoop at 3B, Manny at SS, and Franklin at 2B for 2015?

True. I guess what I was saying is that if they were to acquire him, that seems to be the more likely direction. You're right, though, part of the math that DD has to do in working out the Hardy extension is evaluating what alternative options would cost/likely produce. Good point!

Schoop may end up at 3B longterm, so pursuing Franklin is a good idea. E-Rod for Frankin is fair. I'd love to swipe him for less than that if Seattle is under the impression that they need guys that can help RIGHT NOW.
