Adam Jones: 'I deserve a little bit of respect' from front office

I'm pretty sure Frank Robinson wasn't consulted by the front office about player moves. When Adam Jones comes close to Frank Robinson's accomplishments, let me know.

Hasn't Adam already played more years with the Os than Frank ever did?

Adam isn't a good enough player to afford a team, he'll never make that type of money.

Maybe one in the Mexican League.

His problem is he thinks he's more important than he really is. He's a fine player, but he's not even the best player on his own team if Machado stays healthy.

Adam is a lot better than Machado.

Why shouldn't a player be able to call the GM. There are what 20 guys who know they have made the team. DD should be able to respond to all of them. Ozzie Newsome talks to the players and there are a lot more Ravens than Orioles.

DD doesn't handle people well it seems.

I absolutely disagree with you. No one was ever calling Andy MacPhail. I don't think Buck had his number.

It's pretty obvious that Jones isn't happy about the off-season events. I can see Adam becoming a problem child, demanding a trade or a new contract.....especially if the Orioles tank this season.

Uh, demanding a trade is really rare in MLB and demanding a new contract is pretty much unprecedented. Adam is fine. He is a person. With opinions. And because of social media, fans now have access to players opinions that they didn't used to have. Lets all adjust our expectations accordingly.

Probably wouldn't matter. Judging from AM's trade deadline activity, my guess is that he spent half of his Junes and all of his Julys trying to figure out what he did with his cell phone.

Adam has won 3 straight gold gloves.

Adam Jones career dWAR: 1.4 (in 1105 games)

Best dWar season: 1.0

Manny Machado career dWAR: 6.1 (in 289 games)

Best dWar season: 4.3

Manny's 2013 season defensively was worth 3x more than Adam Jones' entire career.

I don't find Defensive WAR accurate for outfielders. If you don't think Adam had a great year defensively in 2014 you weren't watching the games. The Experts think he is the best in American League. It would be nice if you could judge everyone by a single figure but that isn't how it works.

Manny is a great defensive player as well but I would say he wasn't as good last year as he was in 2013 and there are a lot of very good 3rd basemen in the AL.
