Really? They have room for him if he cannot play out field. Or at least pretend to?

If they have room for Davis at first and DH they have room for Trumbo.

If this break lasts until rehaat least two weeks from tomorrow, which is August 12, he could then begin a minor league rehab assignment, which I believe is allowed to last at up to 20 days, and then be added to the major league roster AFTER September 1 when the rosters expand.

Can't say I'm surprised.  He'll never play for the O's again, and he might not appear in a MLB again, period.

Mark Trumbo revealed yesterday (August 1st) that he’s now aiming for a September debut with the Orioles after again begin shut down with some soreness in his right knee.

Trumbo is back in Norfolk on another rehab assignment and homered in his third at-bat after striking out twice.

I imagine he comes up on September 1.

The fact that you could assign a major leaguer to AA and have him be eligible and play in the AA playoffs despite not really being a part of the team shows just how important that championship is.
