Interesting move to go to Akin there in the 9th for the lefty-lefty matchup when Seranthony was available and warmed up. I wonder if we will see this in the playoffs. Playing matchups even in save situations would be consistent with the Elias/Hyde bullpen management algorithm.

He would have been crucified here if that hadn’t worked, with Akin pitching 4 times in 5 days.

We do not have a closer. Seranthony has done nothing to earn that title. We will have to play the match up game. The only guy in the pen that I have faith in is Coulombe

If you go to game three they are crucifying him for not using Soto in 9th in a 9-3 game even after pitching last night.  Apparently they wanted him going 1.2 innings last night and 2 tonight.  The only blame should be on Bowman.  You have a 6 run lead and can only get 1 freaking out.

That was pathetic, to be sure.   Though the grounder that Westburg couldn’t handle was a bit unlucky.

It's on Bowman all the way. Soto now has given 2 runs in his last 17 innings, and looking like he thinks he might be able to get some stuff going forward. But HYde gets no credit for that?

Great to hear. Never really doubted that he did hold team meetings or try to rally them during the rough stretch.
