I think that instead of an uproar you would get more of a "I guess since they can't win in the majors they decided to stack the deck against some minor league team. Pretty pathetic."

That is certainly how I would react if the situation were reversed.

I would be extra sad if they sent those guys down and they still lost.

I do believe they then sent a member of their rotation to make a rehab start the following year in a playoff series vs one of the affiliates. Cleveland is dirty. Obviously.
