Rays are 3-11 in their last 14. (Two of the wins against the Royals.)

Orioles are 9-5 in their last 14.

There will never be a better time for a 4-game series against Tampa Bay. Orioles need to take full advantage.

I mean, the team that ran into the Orioles when they were 1-7 in their last 8 games fans probably said the same thing about us, then we won 8 in a row.

Having more games means you control your destiny more.

Again, I don't think that's an advantage when you are in the middle of a brutal schedule. Having more games off at the end of the season should not be understated.

Despite their record in July, it would be a fools errand to think that we're going to walk all over them. They are still pitching really well and they play much better baseball at home.

They have more road games the rest of the season.

It's why they talk about the importance of the loss column. If you are tied but ahead in the loss column, it means that you have more games left and you can overtake the other team.

It's also why they talk about wins and losses 'in the bank'. We don't have them and could potentially lose those 4 games, the 4 games the Rays have played  are in the bank, a done deal. We don't need to debate this all night, you think it's an advantage, I don't, no harm no foul.

But if the Os win just one of those four, they're ahead.  Right?

Agreed, not a big deal. It's the conventional wisdom, but the conventional wisdom is not always right.

We're 2 games behind in the win column and 2 games ahead in the loss column, I'm not a mathematician but I think if we win 1 of those games we're still 1 behind in the win column and they are then 1 ahead in the loss column?
