At the time, after the 2016 season, when it became clear that we weren't going to resign him, I was favor of trading him because the cupboards were so bare through the organization. However, if we would have say extended him in 2014, I would have been in favor of keeping him and trying to build a winner around him. I think the question that you raise is a great one. But I see our org situations now compared to then as totally different. 2012 felt very accidental. And every season under Buck felt like we were willing to cut any corners we could in order to get him that one World Series which was missing from his resume. It never felt sustainable or that there was a vision/long term plan for the franchise. This feels and appears to be WAY different. -

Two hours of Dontrelle Willis, 2003 World Series reliever, on the pregame makes me wonder who other than Cole Irvin goes into the bullpen by the end. -
I feel like that actually benefits the Mariners. We can just put in Irvin after the delay, whereas they have to find a replacement for Castillo that can eat innings. -

She’s horrible. It’s not quite as bad doing TV because I can see the action myself. She was on TV. Bearish was pitching and threw a FB right down the middle. Dead center in the zone box. She goes “Bradish paints that one.” I immediately muted the sound. -

Pretty much what I got out of it as well. He was probably rushed, which I think we can all agree on in hindsight, but he didn't say anything controversial.
