I think Morales makes this team better. Maybe 1-2 wins better. Without a guy like Morales, we have a platoon of #7-9 hitters filling that spot.

And if you're sacrificing a 2nd round pick in exchange for either 2 years at below-market-value AAV, or 1 year at way-below-market-value AAV plus a 1st round pick next year....it's a no-brainer. How sweet would a #1-7 look like of Markakis, Machado, Jones, Davis, Morales, Wieters, Hardy?

Makes you wonder who they are, and why they're employed by the O's. Preferring Cruz to Morales is a serious head-scratcher, IMO.
