i think it’s done incalculable damage to this team. Not just in HRs robbed from us, but in how it’s changed so many approaches.

Mountcastle is the obvious example, he doesn’t even bother trying to pull the ball anymore, his whole approach now is just to try to drive the ball to the deepest part of every park but ours.

But we stockpiled all these lefties with great bat skills, who can drive the ball all over the field with power. But none of them can hit the ball out to the opposite field! So “doing damage” largely becomes synonymous with pulling the ball. 

Yep. You can’t build a team that relies on HR’s in a park built like that. Any left-handed pitcher will give the other team an instant advantage.

Say what you want about Duquette. He was able to put together a championship level team that won playoff games. Before they took away his power, he knew how to put a team together that could compete.
