Another head-scratcher by the Royals IMO. I guess they didn't like Gathright's .272 SLG in CF. I am glad that Crisp is relegated to baseball purgatory though. That should shut him up.

Crisp was an exceptional guy to have coming off the bench for the everyday CF. Really exceptional. So I think the Sox will miss him. However, they got an arm in return who can be pretty filthy, and it's less costly for the club to get him via trade rather than FA. Good bullpen the Sox have constructed.

A trade that is balanced and benefits both clubs.

I would assume Lowrie would be a part of the deal. Who knows, maybe the Sox are trying to work a trade that includes Greene AND Peavey?

I'm not sure that Lowrie was ever considered a fulltime SS prospect by the Sox. From what I've heard on the radio here, they didn't think he projected as one. I'm sure the Red Sox don't want to go into next season banking on Lowrie to be a fulltime player.
