The AL East offenses besides the Yankees don't seem as impressive as they used to be. Toronto is signing IKF and Kiermaier. Red Sox are Devers and some guys .Rays may lose Franco for a long time.

It will pick back up next week. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see one big transaction in the next couple of days but ultimately, it will start back up next week.

One of the insiders on the WS board said their GM isn’t even in the office this week, which is fairly normal for this time of the year.

Makes sense.  Most people aren't in the office where I work either (though I am, ugh), so only fair that GMs would too.

Another day of nothing for the O's. I wonder if Elias is frustrated because JA won't give him the OK to sign a solid pitcher? Probably for trades, teams want the O's to overpay with top prospects and Elias won't do that.

If he goes off next season he opts out.

It's not a bad signing for them, would have expected a mutual option year.

And with an opt out and no chance at recouping a draft pick I don't see them getting a huge return.

Nice signing that should give them a better chance to maybe play .500 this season.  They are clearly the bottom dwellers in the AL East next season.

Hate to say it, but the Rays were just fine last year without Franco....and three (maybe 4) pitchers who they counted on for big seasons landing on the DL.  They will be tough again next year, even if they don't sign anyone.
