Any chance that he's doing the opposite of last year? Great spring training but gets hurt and can't play the whole year. But now he's having a terrible spring training so that means he'll be fine and pitch well????

yea, its just wishful thinking. What are the chances he turns it around. I still think it's good since he hasn't even had a full season in the majors yet.

How long can the O's pitch with 4 starters at the beginning of the season because it looks like he is going to need a little more time. This is not a reaction to this inning, this is a reaction to his whole spring.

If he is not 100% he might be trying to hit corners too much, instead of just pitching.

I hate to write this, but there's no indication that Loewen is ever going to get his walks down. He's got a 5.22 bb/9 over 329 MiL innings.

Not concerned about the walks. His numbers regarding walks and Ks improved as he rose throught he minors. It would be a poor analysis to simply look at his total IP and total BBs and start drawing conclusions.

Actually, the number of innings he pitched above Frederick don't provide enough to adequately measure what he's going to do (except for Baltimore 2006). In a full season at Frederick he had a bb/9 of 5.45 and in 2006 at Baltimore in 102 IP he had a BB/9 of 4.97. I guess that's an improvement.
